APPLICATION PROSPECTS OF Bi1-x(Ni3Sn)x ALLOYS IN THERMOMAGNETIC ENERGY CONVERTERS

Abstract
The temperature dependence of the transverse and longitudinal Nernst-Ettingshausen coefficients Bi Ni Sn was studied in the ( ) 0,995 3 0.005 eutectic alloy. It has been shown that the transverse Nernst-Ettingshausen coefficient, which is a dimensionless quantity, has a negative sign throughout the entire measured temperature range, and the invariance of this sign with increasing temperature is due to the stability of the charge carriers. It has been established that the magneto-thermoelectric coefficient does not exhibit a strong temperature dependence, which is also considered promising for creating an infrared detector based on the synthesized eutectic composition. Using this alloy, the active part of a thermal radiation receiver/detector was designed, and its parameters, such as voltage responsivity and the thermomagnetic quality factor, were calculated.
